North Devon occupies, as you would expect, most of the northern portion of Devon an is fairly sizeable with an area of 850 square miles. To the east it blends into Exmoor and west is Cornwall.
Its principal towns are: Barnstaple, Braunton, Fremington, Ilfracombe, Instow, South Molton, Lynton and Lynmouth.

The Goldcoast Oceanfest is a frenetic adrenalin packed celebration of all things extreme sport and is held at Croyde Bay. The beach is a great natural facility for surfing, paddle racing and other water sports. On the beach itself are beach football and volleyball competitions and landlubbers can engage in mountain bike trails and skateboarding inland. After you have overdosed on adrenalin one can partake of the live music stage and big screen entertainment. A large trade village has many beer tents and licensed bars if all that salt water has given you a thirst.
