With comfortably appointed self catering cottages , Lea Hill provides tranquil accommodation where the counties of Devon Somerset and Dorset meet. Close at hand is the World Heritage Coast at Lyme Regis.

Lea Hill occupies a sheltered, secluded position deep in pretty Devon countryside yet just four miles from the small market town of Axminster. Home to the famous carpets and now to “River Cottage HQ” shop and cafe. Axminster has a range of individual local shops, a local country market and two supermarkets.

Lea Hill lies on the edge of Membury, nestled within the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a tranquil East Devon parish where the three counties of Devon, Dorset and Somerset meet . The World Heritage “Jurassic” Coast at Lyme Regis or at Seaton (with its scenic estuary tram line) is only ten miles away. Other attractive resorts like Sidmouth and Branscombe, and the pleasant market town of Honiton – home to a wonderful range of antique shops- are within 15miles.

A good number of historic houses and fine gardens (many National Trust) are within easy reach with Forde Abbey house and gardens just eight miles distant. The County Towns of Exeter or Taunton are forty minutes away by car. Our eight acres of grounds and gardens are set against backdrop of wonderful scenery and our six well equipped self-catering cottages and apartments all have delightful views . Each is a comfortable home from home thoughtfully converted from farm barns or from a part of the historic thatched farmhouse (dating from 14th C.) Relaxing is easey in the extensive gardens with hot tub, hammock and barbeque.

Pets are welcome. There are exercise fields in our ground. Delightful footpaths lead from our grounds in many directions You can take scenic walks to the riverside or, to pretty hamlets through bluebell woods and open farmland - rich in wildlife.
