Lower Tideford Farm Country Cottages
Looking for a peaceful self-catering holiday cottage on a South Devon farm, nestling in a secluded valley with beautiful views over green and rolling hills? And just 4 miles to historic Dartmouth, with the spectacular River Dart, the historic towns of Totnes, Kingsbridge and Salcombe, all on your doorstep? With Dartmoor National Park, one of England's last great wildernesses, a short drive away? Then Lower Tideford Farm with its 5 holiday cottages converted from traditional stone barns all with a wealth of oak beams, vaulted ceilings and warm honey pine country style kitchens, clustered round a courtyard, may be just what you are looking for.
Lower Tideford Farm used to be a dairy farm with contented cows grazing on 170 acres of lush Devon pastureland. The cottages were the original stone-built barns for the farm, and are set down a long private drive away from the quiet country lane. With oil-fired central heating, the cottages are a warm and friendly home from home not just for the glorious Devon summers but also for those out of season breaks.
Beautiful walks nearby. Blue flag beaches a short drive away. Buzzards and badgers and owls and rabbits and lots of other wildlife. Hosts of attractions and amusements for that special day out. And stunning views.
Although not a working farm there are still animals in the fields. Brian, a local farmer for all his life, looks after sheep and cows on our land. If you visit the farm around spring or Easter time you will be able to see newborn lambs. We keep a few ourselves who are tamer than the others and often like a tit-bit or two.
