The Fortescue Arms is a family run Pub / Hotel located a short drive from the world acclaimed sandy beaches of Woolacombe Bay, North Devon, beautiful walks & scenery, golf courses, combined with numerous local activities and interests make it the ideal location to get away to.

Renowned for its good food, in particular the superb carvery, The Fort offers spacious bars, restaurants and beer gardens, catering for everyone including families with children. A choice of menus offers a range of bar snacks, house specials, vegetarian, ala carte & a children’s menu.

Function rooms ideal for Private groups, Office parties, small gatherings, all sizes catered for up to 150 people private & open. In addition we have a skittle alley, darts, pool, Giant Jenga & Connect 4, ideal for Company & private games parties.

The Fort offers 9 bedrooms all en-suite with TV, tea & coffee making facilities, offering a number of larger family rooms. Beer gardens with summer barbecues and other functions.

The Fortescue Arms as an ideal base for Walking and Cycling Holidays in North Devon next to The Tarka Trail aswell as the sandy beaches, North Devon has a fantastic craggy coastline and the Exmoor National Park. Even in the quieter winter months you can walk along the spectacular and rocky heather-covered cliffs and perhaps stop at an old North Devon pub for refreshment on the way

The Fortescue Arms is the ideal base linking you to spectacular North Devon coastline areas including Woolacombe, Mortehoe, Ilfracombe, Croyde and Combe Martin, as well as the stunning expanse of Exmoor. There is many excellent areas and paths for walking, riding, cycling and many outdoor pursuits such as surfing, canoeing, fishing, hang gliding, rock climbing and water skiing..

Cycling the Tarka Trail,The Tarka Trail, a 180-mile figure-of-eight, is named after Henry Williamson's novel, Tarka the Otter which tells the story of an otter called Tarka.

The route is perfect for wildlife-spotters: it clings to estuaries, with their plentiful wading birds, and crosses several rivers.

Wedding Receptions @ The Fort

The function rooms all have character, catering for a variety of wedding occasions, the Red Room ideal for a smaller parties up to 50 guests, whilst the main function rooms caters for up to 100 - 150 guests. The Fortescue can offer a range of services which include providing tailored menus both sit down and buffet, accommodation, flowers and table decorations, wedding cakes, provide disco/ live acts and more importantly managing the day to ensure your wedding day @ The Fort is a memorable and very happy day. The costs can be tailored for the day to suit the customers preferences and budget.
