Backed by high, red cliffs, the sand and shingle beach at Oddicombe is well sheltered from most breezes. Despite being just around the coast from the main Torbay beaches it is an ever popular choice and can get crowded in summer.
Oddicombe is a good family beach with safe swimming, clean water and all the facilities you could need; deckchair, sunbed, pedalo and kayak hire, toilets, a cafe and a shop.
If the hike down to the cove puts you off, fear not, there is a cliff railway serving the beach, although we'd recommend saving it for the journey back up. There is a car park about half a mile from the beach.
