Tiverton Parish Church

Tiverton Parish Church

The imposing sandstone church of St Peter's in Tiverton.

The first stone church on this site was consecrated in 1073 and the church was largely rebuilt in the 15th century. An ornate porch and chapel was added in the 16th century - the Greenway Chapel built by a wool merchant of Tiverton, John Greenway.

As if it needed it there was a further, major enlargement during the 19th century!
