Plymouth Hoe beach
The sea front (or Hoe) in Plymouth harks back to the city's heyday when this was the where it all happened. Plymouth Hoe is still one of the highlights of this coastal city and takes full advantage of the sheltered waters within the Sound.
The beach area consists of two small shingle beaches backed by a concrete promenade and seperated by the Art Deco Tinside Lido. There are many interesting facets to this stretch of coast including the now filled in tidal pools and several sets of steps leading down to the water.
Being only minutes from the city centre there are no shortage of facilities on the Hoe.
