Moretonhampstead Almshouses

The almshouses are situated on Cross Street and date from 1637. They are in a Jacobean style with an open gallery with five arches each side of the gallery entrance.

Originally they were used as a workhouse and later a poorhouse.

In the 1930's they were in decay and condemned but were purchased by the town and renovated.
