Putsborough Sands
Putsborough Sands could be described as the southern end of Woolacombe beach, which is exactly what it is. However, given the vast stretch of sand that is Woolacombe beach it feels a world apart from its busier neighbour.
Sitting in the lee of Baggy Point Putsborough Sands are somewhat sheltered from the prevailing southwesterly winds. This is great news for both beachgoers and surfers who benefit from the same Atlantic swells as neighbouring Croyde and Woolacombe but not the wind.
With plenty of rock pools, acres of golden sand and clean water Putsborough is something of a family favourite. There is a car park nearby but not much else in terms of facilities. But think of this as a blessing, and what keeps Putsborough Sands beach something of a hidden gem.
