East Portlemouth beach

Just across the river from Salcombe, East Portlemouth is a world away from the hustle and bustle of the town's beaches. The beach lies just within the mouth of the Kingsbridge estuary making it a safe, sheltered spot.

The beach at East Portlemouth is actually three smaller beaches which join together on lower tides. This particular part is Fishermans Cove.

You can just make out the ferry landing to the left of the photo - this is the easiest way to get here from Salcombe is to take this foot ferry. The alternative is a long drive around the various creeks of the Kingsbridge estuary.
